NLA Contributions

The National Lottery Authority (NLA) mission is to contribute to national development by providing a source of funding for the support of sports and culture, while giving the general public an opportunity to play a game of chance, win prizes and enhance their lives. This has proven evident throughout the years as the National Lottery Authority (NLA) has given its continued support to various positive ventures throughout the island and the surrounding region.

Scholarship Program

The National Lottery Authority has embarked on an ongoing scholarship program aimed at assisting talented young persons. So far, persons have been awarded scholarships in the areas of athletics, football and tennis.


Sporting Activities

NLA has supported numerous sporting activities including cricket, football, boxing and volley ball. Larger events include the island's Primary and Secondary School Sports, the 2007 World Cup Cricket, Windward Island Secondary School Games, the 2003 Central American and Caribbean Games and the 2007 World Cup Cricket.

Cultural Activities

The Authority also gave their financial and technical support to many cultural activities. These include the Gouyave Fisherman's Birthday Celebrations, the Carriacou Maroon Festival, Carriacou Regatta and both Carriacou and Grenada's Carnival Celebrations.
