The National Lotteries Authority (NLA) was established in 1982, modeled after the National Lottery Authority of St. Vincent and the Grenadines which was the first gaming establishment within the Windward Islands. The NLA is the leading provider of all Lottery games and products in Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique, including Bingo, Lotto (local weekly jackpot game), Super 6 (Windward Islands jackpot game), Daily Pick 3 (local daily game) and a wide variety of Scratch (instant) games.
The NLA is a statutory body, and was originally created to aid in the development of sports, including Cricket, Football and Track and Field; however, in 1983, the NLA's mandate was extended to include the development of culture, and now nation-building - all through its sponsorships and donations.

The National Lotteries Authority was established by an Act of Parliament Act No. 29 of August 1999. Its mandate is to promote the development of lotteries, pools and games of chance in Grenada and for matters connected therewith. During the early years of the National Lotteries Authority's existence, the games offered to the public were Scratch and Bingo; however, from 1993, the NLA's operations expanded and saw the introduction of the "Store and Forward" Online Terminal System technology. With the advance capabilities of lottery systems worldwide, the Authority continues to make changes to its ever-growing structure with a view to assisting all authorized sales agents in achieving the common goal of increased sales.
The Authority continues to improve its technological infrastructure through the introduction of the new state-of-the-art Online System, which was publicly launched on December 7th, 2009, allowing for an increase in the number of authorized agents from 46 to 78; patrons' ability to purchase and redeem winning tickets at any location; and bountiful opportunities for the NLA and any other interested businesses to advertise and promote their products and services online - amongst other activities.
Presently, the Authority sells its online products at One Hundred and Twelve (112) authorized agents throughout the Tri-Island State, and owns and operates two (2) branded sales outlets; one in St. George's at the Bruce Street Mall and the other on Jubilee Street, Grenville.
